Different World

Last night I attended yet another Barnet Planning Committee regarding the Brent Cross Development. What a contrast between the planning committee methods in Barnet and Brent! It seems, in spite of the neighbourhood proximity, the two borough are a thousand miles apart.

I felt proud being a councillor in Brent, not a “yes” robot in Barnet.

  1. Shafique,

Whilst I understand your comments completely, I think you are being a little bit unfair on the Labour and Lib Dem Councillors in Barnet who are decent and hard working councillors. I would go as far as to say Councillors such as Julie Johnson for Labour and Jack Cohen for the Lib Dems are amongst the finest examples of local councillors in the land. Sadly it seems that the Tories (with the notable exception of Kate Salinger) are to a man/woman exactly as you describe. By the way, thanks for the link

  2. There were quite a few of us from Brent there.

Barnet will get all the council tax, and we will get many of the 29,000 extra cars every day.

None of us believes a word the Barnet people say.

  3. Hi Anonymous,

I trust when you talk about 'Barnet people' you are refering to our greedy council leaders who award themselves massive pay rises in time of austerity and not The People of Barnet who have to live uner this tyranny.
