Citizens Advice raises Universal Credit concerns Citizens Advice has expressed serious concerns over the Government's "lack of clarity" around how it will help millions of households to deal with banking and bills under Britain's new welfare scheme. The DWP said in September last year that it would use £145m in funding to help benefits claimants to manage their budgets when Universal Credit goes live, but Citizens Advice is concerned that so far it has failed to come up with a viable solution. Elsewhere, the Guardian carries a number of letters from people protesting against the government’s welfare cuts.
