Muslim Trojan Horse plot “started 20 years ago”

Michael White, a former teacher at a Birmingham school alleged to be part of an "Islamic takeover plot", has said that concerns were first raised more than 20 years ago. Mr White, who was dismissed in 2003 from Park View School, said its board of governors was "taken over by a Muslim sect" in 1993. He said he told LEA but his claims were not investigated. Meanwhile, the Times reports that Ofsted is set to visit eight schools in Birmingham amid claims of attempts to infiltrate them by hard-line Muslims. Inspectors are investigating claims that boys and girls are segregated and extremist views are being presented at assemblies or in other settings. A spokesman for the Department for Education said: “The Secretary of State has commissioned Ofsted to inspect a number of schools in Birmingham in the light of the very serious concerns raised. It would be inappropriate to comment further until Ofsted submits their findings.”
