Mayor of London is asking?Sadiq Khan launches multimillion-pound scheme to boost affordable rehearsal spaces in London
Mayor of London is inviting everybody
Want to do something good for your neighbourhood but not sure what? Got a brilliant idea for a project that would make a real difference in your community?
Whether it's a community kitchen or a creative workspace, Crowdfund London grants money to Londoners to make their local areas even better. Pitch us your idea and you could get up to £50,000 to bring it to life.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Take the first step and attend a workshop near you to learn more, then start planning your project.
Step 2: Pitch your idea on the crowdfunding website Spacehive, and we'll pick the best ideas to pledge funding to.
Step 3: Hit your crowdfunding target and make your idea happen.
We’re hosting five events across London to show you how to bring your idea to life.
You don’t have to be an entrepreneur or expert – sign up to a  free Crowdfund London workshop and take the first step to crowdfund your idea.
Last year we helped out 26 Londoners with their people-powered ideas to improve their local areas. From a Community Hub and CafĂ© in Tottenham, to cleaning up green spaces in Lambeth, ideas became reality because Londoners came to workshops just like these. Now it’s your turn.
Thanks and get pitching!
Sadiq Khan,
Mayor of London

Local Boundry Commission - Consultation Report

Dear followers and readers,

I have taken these information from Brent Web Site for information. If you wish to comments please go ahead  as describe in the link below:

On 5 February 2019 we published draft recommendations for new wards, ward boundaries, and ward names for Brent Council
We are now inviting comments on those recommendations.
Our consultation closes on 15 April 2019.
If you represent a local organization or community group in Brent, please pass this message on to your members or anyone you think who might be interested in the review. You can share the message by email or through social media by using the buttons at the bottom right of the page.
Have your say
You can take part in the consultation by clicking the button at the top of this message or through our interactive consultation portal.
Our website includes further information about the Commission and the review.
We encourage everyone who has a view on the draft recommendations to contact us, whether you support them or whether you wish to propose alternative arrangements.
We will consider every representation received during consultation, whether it is submitted by an individual, a local group or an organisation.
We will weigh each submission against the legal criteria which we must follow when drawing up electoral arrangements:
  • to deliver electoral equality: where each Councillor represents roughly the same number of electors as others across the council;
  • that the pattern of wards should, as far as possible, reflect the interests and identities of local communities;
  • that the electoral arrangements should provide for effective and convenient local government.
It is important that you take account of the criteria if you are suggesting an alternative pattern of wards
If you wish to put forward a view, we would also urge you to ensure that evidence supports your submission.
For example, if you wish to argue that two areas should be included in the same electoral ward, make sure you tell us why they should be together, providing evidence about community facilities, ties, organizations, and amenities, rather than simply asserting that they belong together.
Our website features technical guidance that explains the process and our policies, as well as guidance on how to take part in each part of the process.

New cycle route will ‘transform’ roads in west London

TfL is moving forward with plans to start construction of a new 7km cycle route in west London later this year. The route, which will link Kensington Olympia, Hammersmith and Brentford town centre, is designed to make walking and cycling safer and easier and the local environment more attractive for residents and visitors.
A 2017 consultation on the route – currently known as Cycle Superhighway 9 – received more than 5,000 responses, with nearly 60% of respondents either supporting or strongly supporting the proposals.
Following comments raised in the consultation, TfL has developed new designs along two sections of the route:

  • Kew Bridge/ Kew Bridge Road (High Street Brentford to Wellesley Road)
  • Duke Road and Duke’s Avenue on Chiswick High Road

Safety of children around schools ‘paramount’

Image result for camera vehicle

A new camera enforcement van is helping a local council in south Wales to tackle illegally parked vehicles at schools in the area.

Neath Port Talbot Council is deploying the van as part of a county-wide school gate parking campaign, carried out in partnership with South Wales Police and Mid and West Wales Fire & Rescue Service.
The van, which photographs illegally parked vehicles, generates a fixed penalty notice that is sent directly to vehicle keepers’ registered address. It is equipped with two roof-mounted Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and two colour cameras to capture video evidence.

Brent has such vehicles 5 of them,  I would like to suggest they should be used for the same purposes.
