Coming Soon: New Library Services System

(Melanie Smith, Director of Public Health)
The Council’s library services will be changing their software system at the beginning of March. This is part of our membership of the London Libraries Consortium which gives residents free access to a catalogue of around 5 million items.
The new system is better value for money and will enable the service to operate more smoothly. However it will mean some disruption for customers while we transition over.
While we move the systems over between 2 and 8 March you may notice the following:
  • The online catalogue and library membership account features won’t be available for a week.
  • You will keep the same library card and pin, but will need to visit the website to save the new catalogue to favourites once we go live (brent.gov.uk/libraries)
  • No books will be due back this week and borrowers will get an extra week for all items normally due back.
  • Use the app? You will be prompted to download a new version of the London Libraries app.
  • New users will be unable to register for the ebook service this week, so get in now and register your library card and pin at: https://llc.overdrive.com/
Brent staff will be on hand to help customers with any issues during this time. Please email any queries to libraries@brent.gov.uk.
