I am asked to convey that Lead member for Community Safety Cllr Tom Millor met with officers and colleagues from the Metropolitan Police to launch a shared initiative - OWL.
Below is what he wrote:
"OWL stands for Online Watch Link and is a web platform we are using to provide information to local residents about crime, ASB and Council enforcement matters.
The system should make it easier to administrate neighbourhood watch activity and to get information to residents - whether or not they are neighbourhood watch members.
Our staff and relevant police personnel have been trained. The system is fully secure, closed to inappropriate use, and now in action.
You can sign up at www.owl.co.uk - please pass on the address to Brent residents who may be interested! I am also arranging for some promotional business cards to be left for members next week.
OWL will take some time to bed in, but as per the manifesto commitment we made last year, we are making this investment to make sure that neighbourhood watch is better supported and organised. Let’s make a success of it."
