Chair Barnhill Residents Association was alerted by local residents
About a fire that took place this morning between 1.00 and 2.00am.The fire brigade attended the scene & put out the fire, however, they came
back twice to make sure it was safe.
Chair met the fire officers when he went up to take these photos, he was told
that the previous crew suspected that petrol had been used to start the
fire.
How shameful it is that some people do not care about a healthy environment and bent on destroy a very nice part of this area.
The original team from the fire brigade who attended couldn't find a
hydrant, so, Chair was informed that they had to use buckets to fetch the water from the pond to douse the fire.
I will make sure that the council provide and signpost all hydrants locations in the area. My request is to all those who live in the area to become an eye and ears of the council and police to avoid such happening in the future.
