Sadly this project is being kept in abeyance for nearly 12 years. I remember there was an accident when a vehicle straight went into the front garden 10 meters below from the road surface in the front garden of West Hill corner house.
After a lot of arguments council agreed to electric sign saying “ reduced speed” was installed with a lamppost. Though It was an unsatisfactory solution it was accepted as “ something is better than nothing”. Council did promise to redesigned and layout of the roundabout considering deep sloop and gradient to in the area.
While discussion on the design and funds were still be discussed, the same kind of accident happened again 3 years ago. A woman drove her car down to the front garden of the same house. The Councillors, council officers and the same owner of the house had meetings. After a while scheme was designed and approved and I was told around years and a half ago, the scheme would be ready to tender out soon.
Council has installed following signs temporarily at the location indicated in the map before redesign roundabout project is given go ahead.
