RE: Fryent Way Experimental Closure and Experimental Coach Parking provision in the Wembley Stadium Area - Atlas Road and Hannah Close.

Here is Brent planning to handle traffic issues during the UEFA’s tournament during the month of May, June and July 2021 for Wembley and sourrinding areas.

“The media village is a critical element of UEFA’s requirements around the tournament. Accommodating it was make or break for Wembley being given such a prominent role; 8 matches, the two semi-finals and the showcase final.

This tournament falls only behind the World Cup in terms of footballing significance. The scale is massive. Wembley were required to make 8,000 square metres available for the media village. The Pink Car Park is the only viable footprint that offers scale and proximity, and even that has had to be modified to ensure it is usable. There is a massive cabling network required and so the proximity factor is really critical.

It's the only option other than taking South Way out of action for that purpose for the duration for May, June and July

The FA’s focus remains on delivering the eight games at Wembley inclusive of both semi-finals and the final.

We work, therefore, on the basis this will happen, that our work to secure some coach parking is needed, and that we have a key role in ensuring that this is managed so any disruption is minimised.

I can confirm that there will be no planned road works on key routes from Wembley Stadium and satellite car parks on Fryent Way and Atlas Road / Hannah Close to North Circular Road.

The roads that will be kept free of planned road works for Fryent Way coach parking in addition to our normal event day restrictions are:

·        The Mall

·        Preston Hill

·        Preston Road

·        The Avenue

·        Forty Avenue

·        Wembley Hill Road

·        Kingsbury Road

·        Church Lane

·        Edgware Road

·        Salmon Street

We still do not have any confirmation on fan numbers in the Stadium, if foreign travel will be allowed and with no indication of coach demand it is hard to predict requirements around toilet, bin, wayfinding provision but please be assured that we are looking into this and we will provide more than adequate facilities along the route.’
