Instead, people listened to music on cassette tapes or vinyl records, watched movies on VHS tapes, and communicated with each other through landline telephones or in-person meetings. Personal computers were becoming more common, but they were not as prevalent as they are today. Life moved at a slower pace, and people tended to be more patient and relaxed.
