Barn Hill Ward Policing

I have received a report regarding  ward policing point of view . Please have a look:

“From a Ward policing point of view we have faced increasing abstractions of officers as illness and staffing shortfalls have taken their toll. There has been a policing presence on the Ward throughout, albeit frequently and unavoidably reduced.

Naturally we have been placing an emphasis on policing the response to Covid 19. We have been working with the Council and other agencies to address any premises or persons found to be breaching the Government advice.

I wish to reassure you that we are very much adopting an approach of Engage, Explain, Encourage, Enforce. I am aware that the new police powers granted to assist with Covid 19 have proven controversial and we would only look to use them if all else fails.

Assessments are being done on a daily basis to identify and attend addresses/areas considered to be Covid 19 risks, and so far there have been no significant issues. In the meantime, we seek to continue our core business in these unprecedented times.”
